I have plugged in my electronic drums to the iMac via USB and while most of the drum sounds have mapped correctly (snare, floor Tom, hi hat) the crash cymbal and one of the toms triggers the wrong drum sound in GarageBand.
I’m trying to work out how to make the physical drum hit trigger the correct drum sound...I.e make the crash cymbal map to a crash Cymbal sound.
I am just using the default GarageBand midi drum kits and also a free plug in...both have the same issue albeit the mapping is different with different kits.
I have searched high and low and cannot work out how to fix this - please help.
I am using a very old Mac - so old that I can’t use Midipipe which I have read may be the software I need.
If I move from the Mac to an iPad, can I map the drums to particular drum sounds in GarageBand? I’m thinking I might be better off scrapping the ancient iMac and just going with an iPad.
Thanks in advance.
